Bama on a Friday night will be a good one.

I'm thinking about going. Lacrosse was big at my high school.

Yep - travel costs for clubs are cut down when everyone can meet in the middle. Merch is on the way - not sure when though. I'm looking for shirts/shorts myself

No, it is under the UREC arm. The UREC helps fund a lot of the program, but most of the money for the club is collected through team dues and donations.

I looked at the conferences.

There is no mention of the big time dogs in lacrosse.

Where are Syracuse and Hopkins? They probably have 2/3rd of the national titles for all time.

They are NCAA sanctioned. They aren't a club sport.

Before the drinking age changed, the lax team was sponsored by Michelob. Oh, how the world has changed.

They are a club sport per the LSU press release.

ETA: I really need to pay attention. I thought the post was referencing the LSU as varsity.

Thanks to many outside factors *cough*Title 9*cough*, lacrosse is not an NCAA/Varsity school sanctioned sport at most major colleges. Schools like FSU, Michigan, Texas run "virtual varsities," where they're still clubs, but they have a recruitment process and practice regiment similar to the NCAA teams. These clubs and virtual varsities compete in a league called the MCLA, whereas the Cuse's and the Hopkins of the world compete in the NCAA.

Lots of debate over whether NCAA talent is better than MCLA. For the most part, NCAA is better. However GA Tech opens their season against an NCAA D1 team, and Michigan plays an NCAA D1 team this weekend (Bellarmine University - who they beat last year).
