Looking to try a new buffet this weekend. I've been to House of Seafood in Bush many times, but I've heard that White's in Husser and Tommy's Fish House in Prairieville are also good. Has anyone been to either of these, and if so, how were they?

Buffets are NOT topics discussed on the F&D board. This board is about the finer things in life, not food troughs.

Have not been to HOS in a long time. 10 years ago it was well worth the trip from nola. But I have no idea what the quality of food is these days.

I've been to Tommy's. It was very good, but very expensive. $20+, but I guess that's probably normal. Good selection but I can't stand eating at that place. They have a 3 or 4 man band playing and you have to scream to talk to whoever you're with. If it weren't for that, I'd hit the buffet pretty often. They only have it on the weekend, I believe.

Used to eat at White's when I was a teenager but not sure how I would feel about it now that I am adult and understand the difference between quality and quantity.

My parents used to take us to D'Johns on the way to St francisville pretty often for the seafood buffet. It isnt the highest quality on earth but I remember it being damn good.

Just came back from White's in Husser. Took me a little over an hour from BR to get there, but since many people I had spoken to had given it great reviews, I decided to give it a try. Overall, a lot of quantity (not quite as many items as the House of Seafood in Bush) but not much quality. Definitely not worth the drive. I don't think I'd go back. Next up -- Tommy's. And there's another place called B&C in Vacherie that some people recommended to me.
