To me he looks 3 1/2 and probably will not get more points than 6. I was wanting my girl to kill him but he never came out when she was with me. I think I saw him once.

I agree with your assessment of the deer.

He's a racehorse
Probably spot on in your assessment

For some reason I have always wanted a BIG 6 on the wall. I think they are pretty neat but it's gonna have to be a monster for me to mount another one. HE should be a big one this coming season. I also have a 2 1/2 yr old 6 that is taller and wider than him. I am gonna have to keep an eye on him to see what he is this year.

I would say that he is only 2 1/2. Don't get me wrong, I would probably shoot him, but I think he has more growing to do.

I agree and think this deer is 2 1/2 years old. It very well could be a 3 1/2 year old but it just looks like a younger deer to me.

Looks 2.5-3.5 tops, I was always told if the deer has brow times he has the potential to get bigger. At 4.5 if he is still a six then I would say he is what he is. But if you want to let your daughter shoot a nice buck then by all means let her put him down next season.

Well at least you are gonna have to wait until next year now. He's gonna be bigger next year. He may only be a 6pt but I'd bet he will gain some mass and tine length. You will be happier to get him next season.

I don't think that deer is 3 more like 2 - 2-1/2. Here is a six point I killed that I would have sworn was 3+ in the IR pictures but only ended up being around 2-1/2.

Hard to say without knowing the area. We hunt on farm land with soybeans and the deer young and old have shot up in body size making ageing tough. I would guess 3 1/2 because the body on that deer is the same width at the chest/belly/haunch. No slight belly sag that you see in a 4 1/2 yr old and it doesnt taper down in the hind quarter like most 2 1/2 yr olds. But like all deer all you can do is guess.

If he's 2 1/2 he will be 225lbs this year. Here is a picture of a 2 1/2 6pt that I think will be a good one if he grows some eye guards.

This is what I was thinking. I would have let the deer walk this year, but understandable to let your girl bust him. I think it is good he will have another year to grow.
