a guy I dive with, Mark Peart, has the state record Barracuda 57 lbs 10 oz (Spearfishing)
and last summer I saw the state record Triple Tail at the docks when we got back from the trip
One of my dad's friends shot the state record (bow) whitetail about 10 years ago, I doubt its still king though

Pretty sure a lady took the new state record bow kill (whitetail). Saw a picture of it at Bowies a few weeks ago for the buck of the year deal. I caught a tagged redfish last October.

Not sure if still holding, but in about 1970, I held the land speed record of sliding down a pine tree with a Baker climber.. Would have been a little faster had the skin on my chest not peeled off and slowed me down..

The STAR tournament was actually still going on due to an extension because of the spill. Ended first weekend of October. I caught my fish the Second weekend.

Alot more rare than a banded duck. They only tag and release 50 (???) along the entire Louisiana coast. Most are never caught. Would have won a truck, Harley, or new boat.
