what other options do we have with playing experience?

Need. More. Substance.
But is say Francois starts and hatcher rotates in, especially running situations. Hatcher has the athletic ability to get plenty of PT, he just needs to work on the coverage ability.
But as an LB, he'll get to cover the slower guys

Going to be Hatcher, that's why he was moved. We want a little more than what Francois brought to the table. It honestly seemed like Francois wasn't in on a play all year. Yes, he played less than Sheppard and Baker because he was the last LB and out when we went to nickel or mustang...but he just didn't make any plays.
Some people seem to think Barrow's light turned on but I see Les going with the seniors and leaving Barrow to backup Baker.
...and as far as replacing Baker and Francois/Hatcher at OLB for 2012 I foresee Barrow getting the nod at one end and Randle starting at the other.

Stefoin Francois
Is it just me or is he capable of making the list of people who seem to have been in college forever this year? At least to LSU people.

Not really, he graduated high school in 07

I wanted Maclin to remain a LB because of his size. I feel he could be a factor as a linebacker, he has the prototype size.

Not for chavis' scheme. He likes em smaller and faster. But maclin will be our next mingo

Maclin would be nice in the middle

Trust me, I know. But I had the same kind of expectations for Mingo coming out of high school. He was a killer LB at WM, but I love what chavis and moffitt have done to him.

Mingo still needs like 20lbs

No he doesn't. As a pure pass rusher as he is right now (We have plenty of other every down DE's) he's pretty good, probably will put on a good 5-10 pounds this off-season. But he doesnt need to be 6'5, 260 to do what he does. At 6'5, 245-250 as long as he gets to the QB, he's doing his job.

I am probably going to get slammed for this but Hatcher just seems like another Danny McCray to me....regardless of position played.

I know what year he came in, thats why I used "seem." Mandel runs this article every year about guys who seemed to have been in college longer than they have. As a guy who 4 years ago was supposed to be a stud and you almost never heard about to now, just seems like a long time has passed.

I won't slam you. Mcray wasn't terrible, but I think Hatcher has the physical attributes to be better. I think Hatcher gets a bad rep for the Arky game, but other than some coverage issues, he does a good job. Maybe bulking up and stuffing runs will be his thing.

Hatcher will start imo if we "start" with a 4-3. Nonetheless, we will use a 4-2-5 most of the time because that is what suits our personnel best

LOL...see Arky v LSU 2010
Dude, he was moved because he can't cover a sleeping infant with a quilt! He sucked dic at safety and they moved him because of that.
Oh yeah, unless he is spearing you flying thru the air with his head down and eyes closed, HE CANNOT TACKLE WORTH A shite!
