The first time I watched that clip, I noticed the usher telling the kid something. Then I saw most of the people in the comments noticed it as well. So, many in fact, that the author had to add an edit:

quote:

<crap>... but many commenters are noting that a female usher initially directed Ian's attention toward Nicholas' reaction. Still, the decision to return the ball quite clearly belongs to Ian as he does not argue with the woman for one second or hesitate to give the ball back.

What a non-story that those announcers blew up.

Kid could have told park usher, who gave him the ball, to eat shite.

if that was my dad and i dropped the ball he wouldn't have let me take it back from the kid.

then again my dad is a dick about shite like that

Here's the whole video

The kid who gave the ball back got to sign a "contract" with the dbacks, got to go up to the broadcast booth AND got an autographed justin upton bat.

i'd say he doesn't miss that ball anymore

At least your not a cynic

Yeah, he was encouraged to give the ball back, but the kid didn't even hesitate.

Come on guys, give the kid credit. Most kids his age would have just ignored the usher. That's a good kid right there.

The little Brewers kid is gonna get abused by his future wife one day. He was kinda a weak little kid haha.

He was a KID! A dropped foul ball is a big deal to someone that young. I would have been super pissed and I am 21, imagine a 6 year old dropping a foul ball and thinking he's gonna get it back and it gets tossed to someone else. At 6 or 7 years old, that's devastating because your scope of the world is still so small.

Well, he's probably a Georgia fan too so he just can't help it.

Yeah he was clearly a sweet little kid but he WAS kind of cowering by his mommy. I'm surprised he went up to the booth to be honest.

Maybe something like that will bring him out of his shell a bit? Both kids seemed like good ones.

All of you cynical individuals are douche bags. It was a nice gesture by a kid in a time where that doesn't happen that often.

What does a foul ball have to do with anything?
