I was looking at his high school stats and it said he was nearly unstopable.

If by potential you mean running for 200+ evry game at a school like ULL, then no.

If by potential you mean running hard in SEC play at a school like LSU, then no.

I actually wasn't impressed with him in high school after watching him play WM.

Ford against Bama (2011) = Keiland against VT (2007)
He's due for a big game.

Ford was a very prolific HS back, but struggled early to grasp the offense and contribute. I'm very happy with the way he's played this year. I had given up on him. I think he's only going to get better and I agree that he could have a huge game against Bama. His shiftiness will serve him well.

He's the best back we have and will have the longest career in the NFL. Miles is not very smart keeping him off the field.

He is in his Sophomore (RS) season......sheeeesh.

Dude has helped LSU to the #1 ranking.

Perhaps he has not met SOME people's EXPECTATIONS. But, let's not judge him as to his potential just yet.

Agreed. Do you ever feel lonely being one of the only reasonable fricking people on this entire board?

I have a few others, such as yourself. But, it doesn't take long to call the roll.

Nope. Ware and Hilliard are the two best backs on the team. And the rushing yards will be hard to comeby against alabama so we need someone that can get yards after contact. Ford isn't very good at that.

I am confused by this thread....... has Ford not produced in almost every game he gets significant carries? Besides Kentucky this year, I would say he is doing pretty good.

He led the team in rushing against Auburn and is second on the team for the season even though he was virtually withheld from a couple of games due to poor practice weeks and botching a toss play against Kentucky. He's getting the playing time that is earned and averaging nearly six yards per carry. Coach Miles is helping Ford to achieve his maximum potential by demanding his best effort.

It's my guess that Ford will never live up to his potential according to some. LSU runs multiple guys in and out, no one is going to run for 1,500 yds.

Ford catching the ball out of the backfield could be HUGE vs Bama though, mark it down.
