I know lots of folks would like to see a rematch with Alabama and so did I at first, but the more I think about it we'be been there and Won That with the Tide for this season. They had their shot, and at home, I might add, and they failed.
I welcome other challenges, like playing Stanford, maybe. Then we can say we beat a hoard of top-ranked teams to win the national championship. Just saying.....

I'm torn...on one hand, you need to beat the best team to win it all and that is Alabama...but, why should LSU have to beat Bama TWICE to win the title, but Bama can split with LSU to win it? That doesn't seem fair...

My only problem with a rematch is I was a wreck during the two weeks leading up to it. While I love our chances in NO, a potential rematch would wreck my holidays.

LSU beat Bama in THEIR house. Sorry Gumps if you can't defent your own turf, you don't deserve another shot.

I hear what you're saying. There will be people and polls that still think Bama is the team to beat in a NC. But I think the Tigers proved they were the "best" team in that contest. They went to Bama, and beat the consensus "best" competition in the SEC(actually in the country since they were ranked #2)in THEIR house. Now that's behind them. The only way to challenge whether or not they are the best in the nation is to play the next best competitor in line for the title. I'm sure if we were to play Bama 5 more times this year, they would win at least once. So then do they get to say they're the best team? This is all out of our hands and if the computers make us play them again, then so be it. But to any pollster that's in earshot, I say bullshite on a rematch! Bring on the next deserving team and give them a shot.

I really don't care who we play. I believe this team is and will be perpared for every game they play. You won't see a let down with this team. But, the main reason Bama doesn't deserve a chance to play us again is, is that they did lose to us at home. Playing at home in the SEC is huge. I will also use the same argument for Bama. Let say Oklahoma and BAMA finish with one loss and are the top two team behind LSU. What loss is worse, BAMA losing to the #1 team in the nation at home never being behind till the last play of the game or Oklahoma losing to TT at home playing from behind the entire game, a TT team that will be 5-5 after today.
Bama deserves the nod here.

I agree. Don't want a rematch--especially with a team that good. One hard fought win is enough for me.

Not to mention they would get a chance to sit at home and prepare for an extra week while we play in the SEC champ game.

The whole argument of beating the best is out the window. LSU beat Bama. They had their shot and came up short. Oregon had theirs too. Bring on some fresh meat.

I want boise state. That is if okie state and Stanford lose. I don't think the sooners even deserve to be mentioned for a title shot after being humiliated at home to a crappy team, and most of that game was a blow-out. So give me boise state cuz they did beat the SEC easts best team. Plus I just want once and for all to never have to hear them mentioned in the natty talk again after LSU blows them out in nola.

I'm hoping either Stanford or OSU goes undefeated
I'd like to play another undefeated BCS team in the game
I don't want a rematch with either Oregaon or Bama because I'd like to look back on the season and see us beat as many great teams as possible
