Is this the "Biggest" game ever in Tiger Stadium?

This is both a technical and theoretical question...
Bottom line, you have 1 vs. 3 the last weekend of the year with conference and national championship implications on line. I would think that only a 1 vs. 2 with the same circumstances could be considered bigger.
Has there been a 1 vs. 2? It is my understanding that in 1959 vs. Ole Miss, LSU was No. 1 and Ole Miss No. 3. It was also a different era, and with all due respect to the past, it seems the rewards reaped today far exceed those of the 1950s. In 2009 Florida was No. 1 and LSU No. 4 but clearly neither team lived up to their early October rankings. This is the last weekend of the regular season.
Arkansas, though often downplayed by our fans, has still beaten us 3 of 4 years and legitimately thrown a wrench into our post season plans 2 of those 4 years. Yeah, in 2007 we were bailed out, but they still beat us in our house and in all likelihood killed our championship dreams. Last year we should have been in the Sugar Bowl. This is a damn big game.

I like to think 97 vs Florida was bigger
Or 03 vs Georgia
It being Black Friday I wonder how crowd will be which in my opinion helps influence how big the game will be. I am not sure it is the biggest or what, it is important for this season however.

Of the most importance, yes.
Sadly, this game always draws terrble attendance. I like it better on a Saturday, or at least at night like '09

I certainly think it is.......Can't get much bigger than win and you are the outright division champion, cap off an undefeated regular season, and in all likelihood assure yourself a spot in the national championship game. Add to the fact the team across the sideline is #3 in the country........can't get much bigger than that.

LSU was like #14 or so at the time and beat an overrated Florida team.....yea, it was a great victory and big game because we played the #1 team in the nation, but ended up not meaning a hill of beans at the end of the season.

I would imagine this won't be the case this Friday. The stadium should be at capacity. If you are not going, sell your tickets to some Tiger fans.

Neither of these come even close. There's just way too much on the line this Friday.

If not the biggest ever, it is certainly the biggest since 1960. Biggest game in last half-century is still huge. Any ticket holders who decide not to attend the game should be ridiculed by their friends for their lack of judgement in not being there to cheer for the Tigers.
LSU's players should not be lacking in motivation for this game. They know what a win or loss means in terms of achieving the team's goals, and they most definitely remember the results of last year's game. There will be no excuses from the players. There shouldn't be any excuses from the fans either.

I think there will be a lot more men in the stadium than women since it is black friday, but i think the stadium will be packed.
this is a very special year for LSU football and nobody wants to miss any games this year
hell even Western Kentucky had good attendance

Absolutely and unequivocably....YES.
In that, if LSU loses, we may not even get a BCS bowl.
If we win, we are 12-0 SECW champs and a favorite to beat Georgia and whatever team comes to the Dome Jan. 9.

I've been before to one and stadium felt dead, like we were playing UNO or something

Beating a 2 loss team is a huge accomplishment?

I think it is a big one. So big that I wasn't going to the game and now I am. And I'm leaving family on Thanksgiving night to be there. LSU fans better get their game on. We need that old stadium to be rocking. All that shite about it being like inside of a drum. All that shite about the Coliseum in Rome with the visitors being the Christians. All that shite must happen! It must be true. It is our role in this season and we need to step up everybit as much as the players that many on here will demand step up and play the game of their lives.

I'm pretty sure BEING #1, playing #3, and if you win you win the Division, play for the SEC Championship and are almost assuredly in the national championship game is bigger.
I'm not sure how you being a thief comes into play.

Both great games.
But...no way.
OP is right.
Esp. since LSU went on to lose to UT after Ole Miss game in 1959.
LSU fans are lined up to see Greatest Game of the Century and The Biggest Game in Tiger Stadium in one year with a possible epic #1 vs #2 in The Superdome at the end of the year.
Doesn't get any better than this.

That was a bigger win for LSU because of the program's status at that time. This week is clearly a bigger game considering what's at stake for both teams at this point in the season

Really not sure how this couldn't be the biggest ever. We all pretty much agree this is our best team ever. They're playing the #3 team in the land. Winning sends us to the SEC Championship game and victory there sends us to a backyard National Championship game....not sure what more you need for this to be the biggest game ever in Death Valley.

Thing is "biggest" is objectionable, next season we may say the Alabama game is biggest. Is this game biggest of this season yes, 97 was a huge game after we won. Not so much after thanks to Ole Miss though.
LSU could win this week and lose next then it would make this game pointless and not the "biggest" of the season. You could argue that all home games were equally important as if LsU had lost any they wouldn't be here now.
