Brad Edwards is a huge homer, but Rece Davis is as neutral as they come and you would never in a million years know he was a Gump.

Why should it matter WHAT THEY SAY???? I will never get this. Do they have a SAY in how the game will go. Are they blockin or tacklin???? frick. YES I am PISSED about ANY LSU fan that thinks ANYONE AT ESPN makes a difference.

Just to be clear, are you suggesting they don't sway opinion, even amongst their voting media colleagues? If so, I'd have to really disagree.
Think back to 2007 and how quickly the drum beat began by guys like Herbstreit that LSU should clearly jump VT and UGA after WVU lost to PITT after Championship Saturday. It was really the first time anyone had really articulated the case, and he really drove it home. Given the pollster's past preference of simply leaving teams where they were unless they lost, it was fairly unprecedented for them to re-evaluate the final poll taking into consideration LSU's previous win over VT and the fact that UGA had not even won it's division. I think a lot of that credit went to Herbie and guys like him that drove that point when it mattered.
How much pull they have may be debatable, but to suggest they have none is not.

Reece Davis is great IMO, never shows signs of any bias.
Brad Edwards I don't really pay attention to so maybe but all he really does is predict standings. Not sure what he should "recuse" himself from

Again...NOT what he said (at least it is out of context). He was discussing the fact that OSU is #5 in the human polls. And, that in order to make it work out (if a voter wanted to change things) he'd have to consider how to switch it around in order to change things. He was talking in context that the voters are not in a room and discussing the possibilities. Thus, the voters just turn in their own ballets and "won't want to think about" the whole 'conspire to get the result we want' aspect

You missed my point. LSU fans get butthurt if anyone at ESPN says something bad about them, while sucking up to another team. The FANS are SO SPOILED here that its kinda disturbing. I know LSU is the best team in the country. I don't need to care what Rece Davis thinks. Do they have some pull??? maybe. But I could care less what ANYTHING the 4 letter network has to say.

I think a lot of people are forgetting this. Up until next week it really didn't matter what those arse hats voted. Next week, their vote will actually put two teams in the MNC. They will flex their "muscles" and try to create the match up that they want.
