Taxidermists

I have a couple ducks I need mounted and the only taxidermist I know of is telling me over a year wait. Anyone know of a good one that doesn't take over 6 months to get the job done and charges a reasonable price in the New Orleans/Baton Rouge area or anywhere in between?
I tried using the Search Function but the new Google Search they switched to sucks balls so don't fault me if I missed a thread on this issue.
TIA

I went to David Luke in Breaux Bridge last week after getting advice here. He'll have my bird back to me in 4 months or less.

How incredible is his studio?

I took mine to the elite outdoors taxidermy in hnderson area. 200 bucks and 5 to 6 months. Google his website.

quote:Incredible. I'll be taking friends on field trips there. I think I'm going to try to mount one bird a season from now on until I build a collection of various species. David is the man.

So do I need to to kill some badass duck and get this dude to mount it now?

Good choice, I don't know a single person as passionate about their job as he is

Sonny Amato - Artistry of Wildlife. He's done my last 2 deer but really has a special touch for birds. My friend just brought his Woody there also. You can check out his work online. He is in Central about a 15-20min drive north of BR.

There are exceptions, but as a general rule I try not to choose a taxidermist based on their turnaround time. I want the guy that's going to do the best work. I mean, what's another 6 mos when it's going to be hanging on your wall for years?
