Dont let the overinflated batting averages fool you...taking Rhymes numbers out... in SEC games ONLY, the entire rest of the team is 38 for 176 batting a cool .217...Recipe for disaster..unless there are major offensive changes, this team is in serious trouble as it plays Arkansas and Florida the next 2 weekends.... Sorry but those are the facts....

Well thank god he's on our team, right...?

If you take our top three hitters and pitchers out its not looking good guys

If you take away the offensive line, Jordan Jefferson still fumbles the snap.

That's like when people say take out his 80 yard run and we held him to 60 yards on 20 carries.

Point is that Fla and Arkansas will pitch around Rhymes and make it very difficult for us now..Dont cry at the end of the season when we again dont host a regional and hav another losing SEC record...Enough is enough....

Looking at the remaining SEC schedule...my bold prediction...
We will finish the SEC 10-20 this year...

Meh, I'll say that is the worst we will finish
No way we win 20 games though. 16 or 17 tops

yeah well if you take michael jordan off of the bulls in the 90s, they wouldn't have won any championships. Sorry but those are the facts.

Hey Bossier boy, dont be cute about this situation..This is been going on 3 years now..We will talk at the end of the season..I hope I am wrong, but being involved in baseball for over 30 years, I am a bit concerned..35 mil complex and 3 years out of a national champ season..no excuse..Sorry...

Really? This is your best reply to the OP? This analogy is not even close. One guy can effect the outcome of a basketball game/team, but, just as with football, this is not even close in baseball.
I think the OP makes a very valid point.
The problem I see with this team is there is no hitting philosophy whatsoever. A perfect example (while not taking away from a stellar pitching performance) the Friday night starter for MSU saw his first action of the year as a starter. He went 8 2/3 innings and struck out 16 or 17 (SEC Record)hitters. I challenge anyone to go to the box and count pitches thrown by both starters...typically, the LSU pitcher's throw substantially more pitches through the first 5 or so innings than do the opposing starting pitchers.
Our coaching staff's philosophy for hitting is "here is a bat, hold this end and, if you think the catcher can catch it, you swing at it".
I've been going to LSU baseball games for 20+ years...this is as bad as I've seen it.

Very well thought out response mlm.. People better start taking those purple and gold glasses off.. I think Skip already has...

Yeah, everyone in here trashing the OP, I think it's a good point that the offense as a whole just isn't producing the runs to win. Some of these 1 run games will go our way, but overall it is telling that 8 spots in our order bat a combined .217
We're in for a long season

I think it would be interesting to take the top 1 or 2 player(s) (statically) from each team and then see how they compare.
