Do y'all think we are recruiting a player similar to them? I think we need a shot blocker and a aggressive dunk on you type of player to go with next years team.

You can probably count on us not getting that type of player as long as Trent Johnson is around.

Not too long ago, about the time Trent was hired, some fans were giddy that we were no longer recruiting that type player. We needed program builders not lottery picks was the assertion.
They go their wish.

Jabari Smith and Tyrus Thomas weren't considered "lottery picks" when they were recruited ... in fact, I think Tyrus Thomas was almost an afterthought and then blossomed at LSU. Don't remember whether Stromile was considered that high potential or not.

stro was brady's first big recruit, jabari was a solid JUCO signing, tyrus was a late bloomer.

its all about recruiting- those were some exciting years with exciting players
While we have some talent there is little excitement about TJ teams

Who was ever giddy about not getting these type of players. Watch the final four and see how many lottery picks will be on the floor this weekend. There are not many impact seniors on any of these teams. Outside the Lopez twins TJ has NEVER recruited and signed a lottery pick. The twins were going to Stanford no matter who the coach was. IMO you can add MT5, Bass, big baby, Randolph to that list along with Dupree. I also thought Jaime was talented enough.
