Anyone concerned with the lack of sacks thru 3 lesser opponents. We have got to get more pressure on opposing QB's

Considering the quick throw offenses...no. I'll take the domination over a sack any day.

I will worry about sacks never. I worry more about pressures. We have been getting qb pressure all season. You are not going to sack a qb when they are running plays to prevent a sack from happening!

Idaho ran a quick hit passing game just like WV and Oregon did against us last year. We won those despite giving up a lot of yards. Well facing the same kind of offensive philosophy so far our D hasn't given up much yardage at all.

Max Protect and 3 step drops aren't a stategy for winning, they are a strategy for not getting your QB killed.

Once a team actually tries to win against us, the sacks will come.

three step drop qb's. If we had the steel curtain in their hay day we couldn't get to the qb with that offense. The thinking is if we force them to be one dimensional and throw the ball, we will force turnovers and give the short field to our offense or score. Happens to the best of them. See Manning and Brees this weekend and last night.

NT and Idaho was throwing quick throws to avoid the pass rush. Not going to get sacks against that but we still shut them down. We had sacks against Udub and Price was running for his life all night.

To sum up, no I'm not concerned.

No, and if you watched all three games, you'd know that we regularly get pressure on the QBs.

I would like to see Mingo and co. Plant a few SEC QB's in the dirt. But, I would rather see us pressure the QB into making crap decisions.

Exactly. I can think of two situations where LSU players aborted their pass rush because they recognized a quick pass and made interceptions instead. One by Reid and one by LE.

Did you watch any of the three games, or did you just stick your finger up your arse and sniff it for three hours at a time?

worst first post ever.

Also, is this thread topic the new JJ thread? I've only seen 65,000 of them started, most by new members. What is going on in here?

I try

Eric Reid's play was remarkable. He was in a delay blitz that gave him a open lane to the passer, but in a split second (because he is a terrific player who doesn't drop his head and charge blindly) diagnosed what was happening and simply stopped and waited. Then jumped and made a pretty tough play look remarkably simple.

Long story short, if you realize the play is a blitz beater and you can get in position to turn disadvantage in to catastrophic, demoralizing, soul crushing advantage, that is more impressive than 6 sacks.
