Have some colleagues from Texas coming over in a few weeks, I was hoping for opinions on charbroiled oysters? Already getting food requests from them.
Thanks.

Mansour's or Acme Oyster House are the two best choices around. Mansour's is a little bit nicer and more expensive place than Acme.

I always thought Acme had good charbroiled oysters.

When I want them, that's what I do. Two nights in a row, or a Saturday then Sunday while watching football.
They gone,
A sack is usually 5 good dozen or so.

Out of town guests?
For oysters an a nice dinner - Mansur's
For oysters.... And cold beer - City Cafe/ACME
Quality of food at Mansurs is far superior to the others, imo

I just called Tony's. They don't have any.
I did have some at Parain's yesterday, raw.
They are pretty good right now. Good salinity.

I agree. its the only thing I really like at City Cafe but they do a great job on them there and the oysters are always a good size. Im not a fan of Acme's though. Parrains is good but they are a bit different.

I like doing charbroiled oysters out on the porch at Parrains, sipping on some cold beer

Mansur's. Sit in the bar and watch them being shucked and grilled.
