Anyone else underwhelmed by Raising Canes?

I sure am.
I have been 5 timse and still don't see what people like so much about this place.
The chicken tenders are average and taste like your average chicken tender. Would be nice if they served them in different flavors such as BBQ or Buffalo, but its just the standard plain chicken tender that tastes like any random chicken tender I can get at a place like Dairy Queen.
The fries are your standard regular crinkle cut fries I can get anywhere else, and taste like your standard regular crinkle cut fries I can get anywhere else.
The Cane's sauce... everyone raves about the sauce. It would be nice if they gave you enough of it to actually be able to use it... but instead they hardly give you any at all, not even enough to dip your tenders into. One dip of a tender and its all gone. I usually go through it all before I am even halfway through my tenders and have no sauce left for the fries. And then they charge you $.30 for each extra unit of sauce. It's not even that great to warrant the .30 extra, because it really tastes like ketchup, mayo and pepper mixed together.
The place is average. Not seeing what is so great.

Canes was much better when there was only the original location.
We've got one in Edmond, OK that just opened. I'll grab some every once in a while, but its no where near the quality it used to be when there was only 1 canes.
IMO.

What I don't like is the fact that its way over priced. You can go to a buffet, food truck or any number of ethnic restaurants and get cheaper and better food.

thye have gone downhill dramatically over the last several years
smaller chicken, less chicken and higher prices

There is one right acrross the street from my office. I haven't gone to it yet. I don't crave it, but that being said I definitely still like it.

I love picking up Canes after a night of drinking.
I replace the fries with an extra toast and the coleslaw with an extra sauce.

Guthries is better and is also where Todd Graves worked when he got the "idea" for canes. Same exact sauce but Guthries chicken is much better with much more flavor. There buffalo sandwich is amazing too.

Nope - it's exactly what I have exepected since my first visit. I was very pleasently surprised with my first visit when I was at LSU in the mid 90's and although prices have went up, I have gotten what I expected each time I went.

This. For what you get...the price just doesn't add up.

Serious question....how many cups of ranch dressing do you use on an average house salad?

Why would I be underwhelmed? Maybe your expectations are too high for a fried chicken shack.

Cane's does need to broaden the menu a bit...grilled chicken, new sauces, etc.

Was really good a long time ago....now it sucks!
I still like the tea and lemonade though.

If given the choice between the two..I'm picking Chick-Fil-A everytime.

Canes sucks. I crave it occasionally for some reason, but it sucks and I have to talk myself out of it. The sauce us adequate size, you're just apparently being a gluttonous pig with it. The toast isn't that great, and the fries suck.
Just very mediocre
