For the 5 of us on this board still following the club...

Rick Ankiel and F. Martinez have been DFA'd.

Paredes and Crowe called up from AAA along with JD Martinez.

Seems like the front office may finally realize that it is difficult to win games with a stat line of 18 Strike outs and 10 LOB every night.

Good to see Paredes back with the "big" league club. How long before we see Humber DFA'd and Cosart called up?

oh, and link: By Mr. Ankiel and Mr. Martinez

Germans
Oh and Erik Bedard moved to bullpen, might as well put that here before you create a thread for it

Man, grow up.

i searched, didn't see it. I clearly put a descriptive title for the thread. If you've already seen another thread with the same subject -- why enter just to be an immature dick?

Don't like my subject - stay away. Not all of us are un-employed asshats.

Thank you for validating my point, however, it was unnecessary.

They cut Ankiel? Man the Mets could use him if he anything left in the tank. Could he DH in the American league or is it time to say adios?

Well he had over a .500 slugging percentage to go along with a .150 BA.... He is a true outcome player, strike out or home run

62 AB's, 35 Strike outs, 12 hits, 5 walks, 5 home runs.

Yes, he'd be perfect for the Mets.

Ankiel should try coming back as a pitcher

Major props to the front office to shake things up. I don't care how bad they are this season, we all knew this was coming.....but giving these guys their shot is definitely a start.

Ankiel and Martinez had their shot and blew it. Time to bring up the young kids and some new blood and Luhnow recognized that.

This is something Uncle Drayton never would have done.

FORWARD. (slowly)

Definitely.

And for the Astros fans still on the board, apparently I missed the original thread for this discussion (as Mr. Tdeucen so politely pointed out for me.). I was out of the country for a couple of weeks.

Oddly enough -- I've seen only 2 Astros games broadcast in Central Texas this season - However I was able to watch both the Red Sox and Yankees series on TV in Taiwan. Go figure.

All of the bullshite surrounding the Comcast deal with the team owners in Houston.

I average a game every two weeks as a non Astros fan and the place is always 1/3 full so blocking the rest of the area from watching seems like the smart thing to do.

Hey, that's 1 more than me

I agree, though, time to bring in some fresh blood. Hopefully we get to see Cosart and Singleton later this year.

Pretty soon they'll have to dip into the prospect pool. I know they want to hold off for service time clocks. No point in having a guy go to arbitration a year earlier than needed.

The Singleton suspension sucks. We may have been able to see some light at the end of the tunnel early had he not smoked the devil's lettuce.

And for those without the MLB package, I have a link to a website that streams all of the games. You have to fight through a few pop ups at first, but it works well & it's free.
