If so, skim, whole or other? How does it do after thawing?

Now that we have a Kleinpeter on the board, maybe he could weigh in on this topic.

My mom used to freeze my milk for me, when I was a kid, so it would be cold at lunch. Always worked for me.

Same here. No complaints from my son. Of course, he wasn't really talking.

It freezes and thaws quite well. There are only two types of milk product that I will a put a foot up your arse if served to me, The first is humongously too much, evaporated milk which should be outlawed worldwide. The second is dried milk which just a notch below the first one mentioned.

You can freeze milk. The only thing to be aware of is that when you thaw it out, it may separate. The separation will look as though it's sour, but give it a gentle shake, and it'll be fine.
Same works for egg nog. A lot of consumers will buy extra egg nog and freeze it because it's only sold (obviously) during Christmas.

Because it goes so well with the locally produced and other rums from the islands egg nog is produced in the USVI year round. I or at best one voice would seek the same thing here in the continent.

Your food board posts have gotten violent lately, Cit.
I freeze my glass of milk all the time to get it cold. Usually, has a half inch of ice on top if I leave it in too long. No problems. I've never frozen it long term though.

In our house, there is only the wife and me. We buy a gallon of milk and put it into the freezer in 16 ounce bottled water bottles. It freezes fine and then we use it a bottle at a time over the next two or three weeks. when we open a bottle, we take the next one out.
Looks strange when frozen but thaws fine. No change in quality at all.
We do 2%, but I'm sure other levels would do OK too.

My experience is that whole milk separates. You just shake it and seems fine.
