Per Mike Triplett.

Once again, it appears extremely unlikely that Brees will play in Friday’s preseason game against the Tennessee Titans. But he still appears on schedule to be back in plenty of time for the regular season.

When asked if it’s difficult to keep Brees patient, Payton said: “Well, he has that nature in him. But I also think he’s smart and he understands that the type of strain he has is something that can reoccur if you’re not careful and you don’t let it heal properly.”
The Saints had a number of positive developments with their injury list on Tuesday.
Cornerback Champ Bailey returned to the practice field for the first time in nearly two weeks after suffering an undisclosed injury -- though he was limited to walk-through and individual work.
“He’s progressing well, feeling better and it’s encouraging,” Payton said.
And guard Jahri Evans was spotted on the sideline for the first time in a week, though he wasn’t dressed in pads and only did some light exercises with the trainers off to the side as he recovers from an undisclosed injury.
Other injury updates:
•Linebacker Victor Butler, fullback Erik Lorig and safety Ty Zimmerman remained absent from practice. Receiver Kenny Stills, cornerback Patrick Robinson, linebackers David Hawthorne and Kyle Knox, cornerback Rod Sweeting, running back Timothy Flanders and offensive tackle Ty Nsekhe were among the players who attended practice but did not wear pads or participate in any drills. Tight end Je'Ron Hamm also did not participate.
•Kicker Shayne Graham returned to practice after being held out with an undisclosed injury Monday. Center Jonathan Goodwin was also back after being absent from Monday’s afternoon walk-through.
•Safety Jairus Byrd, guard Ben Grubbs and defensive tackle John Jenkins participated in individual drills but remained out of full-team drills.

I just want him to play a bit against the Colts.

i completely understand the caution but from a fan standpoint
love paying for preseason games and not even getting one play from Brees.

But he still appears on schedule
Trip is good and all but how the hell does anyone know the "schedule" on CSP's walking wounded squad.
Hell several could be pushing up the daisies and we wouldn't know a damn thing.

I am going to the game Friday and I really was hoping to see him play at least ONE SERIES.
If he is injured enough to miss 2 straight games, I hope he does not play at all in any preseason games this year. Rest him till @Atlanta.

If he can't play after this week, then I will be concerned.

makes my decision to not og to the game friday much easier.

I've seen Brees play before....I don't need to see what he can do in the preseason.
In SP we trust.

Damn, that seems like a lot of injuries

Nope. He has a side muscle.

Agreed with a previous poster, sit him out for the Titans, have him play a half against the Colts and then sit him out again the Ravens.

My takeaway from that article is that Victor Butler is dead.

Brees is gonna Brees and not trolling BUT has he done much in practice with reps? I'm all about him getting his 1st game experience this year in G1 against Atlanta. Gives us a little bit more of an advantage.
