small and harmless misfortunes are often time funny. I have no problem in seeing humor in them. Especially when they happen to people who are in a good place in life.
Those people who struggle every day I don't think it's that funny cause even small things can put them over the edge.

I find humor in the large and harmful misfortunes as well.

I feel it is different. I used the word "humor" quite deliberately

It's typical. Big and terrible misfortunes are also typically joked about. Isn't there something about tragedy being one of the bases of comedy?

So yesterday I was taking a walk near the office. A visually impaired person was about half a block ahead of me. (I'm used to seeing them in the vicinity, but there is usually someone else with them, a trainer or guide, I guess.) If I'd have realized it ahead of time, I'd have warned him before he smacked his head on the crape myrtle branch hanging over the sidewalk. Canes can't feel every obstacle!
I thought that at least he didn't know someone else saw it happen, so that might save him some embarrassment, but he heard my footsteps as I approached and stopped me to ask me the name of the street we were nearing.
I am sort of ashamed that I found it funny.
