I went to a dinner party Friday night at my buddies parents new house. In one room they had (2) 3'x 5' glass cases with multiple shelves filled with all these crystal figurines. It's all lit up with LED lighting and looks pretty cool.

My buddy and I were admiring the collection when the owner sneaks up behind us and says, "You boys like that shiny shite?"

Actually, I did.

He goes into this 30 minute presentation, about this one is this, and that one is a special limited edition. That one there we bought at Disney world... they only made 500 Dumbos with blue eyes. Yada, yada, yada...

I got on ebay, and sure enough the old fella wasn't bull shitting. He has a crystal bull about the size of a duck decoy that sells for over $2000.

So here is what I really want to know before I start buying this stuff for my wife(and me because I do like it).

OT, is it trashy or classy?

Why do you still have to ask?

It's only trashy if they end up at the pawn shop.

Why does this seem to matter so much?

I personally don't like them...not really my style. But if you like them, why should me not liking them matter?

Buy and enjoy whatever you like.

I've seen them in pawn shops a lot.

That's where I plan to start buying at a discount. I know that's trashy, but no one has to know but us.

not legit

I don't imagine I'll ever be collecting figurines. But if that's what you're into, I would imagine Swarovski is the way to go. Figurines just make me think of old people.

Anything that comes with its own pair of white gloves is OT baller in my book.

I like that the bull is anatomically correct. Reminds me of that scene in Goonies where they break the dick of Mikey's moms favorite statue.

The bull obviously caught my attention, but here are some other cool animals.

The Stag... ~$250

The alligator... ~$85

The crab... ~$40

Waste of money.

If the world to economy crashed like the Great Depression, he wouldn't be able to trade any of these crystal figurines for a loaf of bread.

Just buy a ton of the crab ones and fill up an entire cabinet with them. That would be a great conversation piece.

The only thing we have that is Swarovski are the Christmas ornaments. I bought my wife one when we were first dating and have bought her one every year since....she loves them, and they look great on the tree.

Your toddler will love those ornaments as well. And then the floor will love them.
