Just out of curiosity I looked up how many games Jennings threw for less than 100 yards. I want to point out, I thought Jennings' season last year was the most frustrating I have ever witnessed by an LSU qb. Jennings has thrown for less than 100 yards 5 times. Harris has now hit his 4th game with less than 100 yards and that's in a total of 7 games participated. I have no problem with the run first offense and I believe in Harris' arm talent and ability to run, but I just thought it was interesting to point out. Wr play looks worse, but none of the wrs are new to the system. Something really looks off. Harris' best performance this year was against Syracuse when we really needed him to step up and that's encouraging, but regardless of how much we throw the football, it has to be easier to execute than this. We have speed, where are the crossing routes, bubble screens, quick slants?

Nowhere did I say I want to see a ton of passing. I just think we should have a more effective passing game. I just used the metric of 100 yards because even with the inept Jennings we achieved that mark most games last year...in fact 9 times and 2 that we didn't he got pulled against NMSU and only played a small amount against Auburn. Also, 100 yards can be achieved in most schemes with 7 or 8 completions, which should equate to about 12 or 15 passes a game, which is about what we do.

I also stated that I am happy with the run first offense and feeding Fournette a ton. I have no issue with rushing for 350 a game, nor do I think we should deviate from that effort, but we need to compliment it better.

Fournette. . . . . dumbass. Why would you throw 30 times a game with a stud like that? Some of yall are just dumb.

We don't do that.

And even if we did ... we can't catch.

It has been hard to watch, I keep telling myself they will do better next week. That being said I can't really say I haven't been pleased with Harris. Our WR aren't wide open very often, which is sad since we run PA and have the best RB in the nation. And when they are wide open they usually drop it.

Coach Cam's play calling is terrible for young QBs, I rarely see easy routes to get BH in rhythm.

Always an IF with these people ... always an IF.

He's not getting any help it seems. He clearly would have hit the mark, but even that mark is not typically a difficult mark for most teams to achieve. We have a pro coach implementing a pro style pass game and we look like a high school football team. I don't know how anyone can expect it to get better this season since we are going to shy away from opportunities to throw and, when given them, we can't execute. If we can run for 350 a game against Florida and Bama and the rest of the SEC, I don't really care, but we will have to make some plays through the air.

True but something is just not right. It was blatantly obvious that they were trying to work on the passing game from the start. My question is why so many damn home run balls? Where are the short underneath throws? Cam Cameron has forgotten more football than I know but damn man it's frustrating to watch us just heave bombs two years in a row. I get its a low risk pass buts it's also low percentage. I guess we shall wait and see what lies ahead.

There are none. I started pointing this out in 2013, but it was hard to really complain because Landry and Odell caught everything and Mett had no trouble putting it up to them. We had the personnel to really open it up. He has made 0 adjustments to complement the passing game with his new pieces. He's easily the most overpaid OC in the nation. I'm not sure where you would actually rank him, but I would take a lot of guys ahead of him. His major responsibility is qb play and the passing game coordinator. QB play looks decent, but overall, he has failed miserably this season and last.

Just seems as though Cameron never gives harris a chance to get some confidence building throws. The TE seam route is open all the time and its used maybe once a game.

Harris throws a tight spiral and hits receivers on the hands. They drop it.

I agree that short passes over the middle (which seems to be the Burmuda Triangle to our coaching staff) would remedy the sub-100 passing yards situation.

It's hard to catch a bullet coming from 12-15 yards away.
