The 22-member Nashville MLS Organizing Committee, which is composed of leaders from several of Nashville’s largest corporations, is set to formally announce its creation Tuesday. Efforts are led by wealthy Nashville businessman and investor Bill Hagerty, the former commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development under Republican Gov. Bill Haslam.

Nashville needs a team if the MLS wants to continue building a fanbase in the south.

Won't happen with a USL club already in the works.

I don't see how that will hinder them.

It's less risky when you wait and see how the USL team draws and MLS already has a close relationship with USL. Also, I'm not sure where we stand on a new stadium. The cities already have something in the works. I think we will get something built around the fairgrounds because the mayor already wants to dump a lot of money to that area.

Would be a good rival for ATLUTD, I know Orlando will play that role, but when (if) Miami comes in that will provide Orlando a more natural rival.
Plus, from what I've seen Orlando City fans are pretty awful about trying to parrot the worst parts of European fan culture. One of the fan groups is comically over the top,
