Geeezzzz....I'm getting sick of hearing these Arkansas....

fans telling me about how they are going to win the National Championship and will own LSU. Nothing like a win and a new "superstar" coach to build those expectations up to unbelievable levels. It seems like shooting for an SEC Champ would be the first priority since they have never won one of those!
D.C....This is not pointed at people like you. I am just amazed at the ridiculous expectations. Just about every Arkansas fan I've run across expects an SEC Champ next year and to immediately compete for a NC.

Well -- they are excited over the new coach, I guess. No one who REALLY follows football closely is expecting this. You are listening to bandwagon fans. Ignore it.

Apparently the new coach guaranteed the boosters and his team that they will win the National Championship yesterday. I've heard old time fans talking shite that normally don't say anything. I can understand hoping to be more competitive but this ranks right up there with the Alabama expectations of Saban last year. Just ridiculous!

It is quite amazing what I have heard over the past 24 hours. I love the enthusiasm the fans get but my gosh, some actually believe they are going to win 10 games without DMac, Felix, and Monk.
The cool part is talking to the ones who just tore up Saban and even Miles on how they handled their coaching positions using terms such as "unfaithful, liar, not high character, etc" and they wouldn't want a coach like that no matter how good they are. All they can do now is half smile and say "oh well, we got a good one".

I wouldn't be thrilled if I were an Arkansas fan.
I really think Petrino will be out of Arky in a year or two.

Someone will have to pay a pretty penny to buy him out. And no one is really expecting him to stay long-term.... just long enough to start getting those skill players we need.

We are a LITTLE different. Arkansas fans NEVER get the best... we always settle for less. Who knows if Petrino will live up to his name, but finally -- we didn't settle for less.

There excited about the 2008 season. I can't really blame them- Casey Dick, a 4 year starting QB isn't going to the NFL. O ya, Bobby Petrino won pretty big for 4 years at Louisville and he won a BCS Bowl not even 2 years ago. But Casey Dick is what strikes fear.

Nobody I know thinks we have a shot at a NC next season. We are losing a lot on defense, in addition to McFadden and Hillis.
If Felix Jones stays, our O-line is going to be pretty salty, and we should have some offense.
We are excited about Petrino, but we just got rid of a coach loved by ESPN because he epitomized every Arkansas stereotype.
Nutt wasn't a very good coach, I don't care what anybody thinks.
I am more excited about Arkansas football than I have been in 8 years.
But I don't seriously expect a MNC or SECC next season.

it sucks to live in enemy territory, but there is no way it can be worse than the hellstorm I had to experience last year with the Saban hiring. If I were you I'd just turn off talk radio for a while...that right there will filter out most of the idiots.

It's not bothering me... I completely expected it. Everyone thinks they know everything.
Funny thing is, ESPN was condemning Nutt earlier in the season. He beats LSU, resigns/gets fired, and now he's a hero and Arkansas is the bad guy.

I dont know where you are getting that from? Everyone I know that is a Hog fan has realistic expectations for next year. Dont let a few morons speak for an entire fan base please.
