First game in Tiger Stadium Saturday! Advice?

My wife and I will be going to our first game in BR, so what kind of advice would you guys give to first timers? Will be staying with dad and step-mom, and will probably go eat lunch somewhere before heading to the stadium. So any recommendations on restaurants, tailgating info, or general game day festivities?

This is probably the best advice I've ever seen.

Shoot man I'll never leave a game lol. Stayed and rooted for the Tigers in Houston through the first Wisconsin game and was one of the few LSU fans in my section that wasn't filing out down 17. We're both early 20's so also looking for some great places to drink and hang out after the game.

Hit Hollywood Casino after the game (easy walk from the stadium).

Well if you're just going to get lunch before going to the game, you're doing it wrong. If you want to stay in close proximity to the stadium, eat something decent, and don't have a tailgate to go to then that would be tricky to get a good game plan for the day. Maybe wake up, pound a few screwdrivers, and head to Walk-On's until you're ready to go to the game...? Walk-On's always has a pretty good game day atmosphere. If you want to explore the tailgating atmosphere on-campus then leave Walk-On's a few hours before kick-off and walk in the direction of the stadium to check it out. The drunker the better, my friend.

Yeah dad has a couple of buddies that might be setting up and tailgating, but we don't know yet. Will be the first weekend I've spent down in BR, so just trying to get a grasp on how to schedule out the day. Plan on watching the band and team walk down too. So just trying to have fun and pass time beforehand.

I'll be pissed at anyone who leaves this game early lol. Wanted to go to a big game for the first time to fully experience death Valley! 8pm game is late, but hopefully people go with the intention of staying, if not frick them!

Stay out of the way of the traffic dodging herd that will be bailing at halftime.

Weinerschnitzel is truly a hidden gem in Baton Rouge. Best corn dogs in town!

If you're gonna go that late then just go to walk ons at Noon and sit and wait for a table. Get a table and eat and have some drinks. Then maybe around 2 make your way around the campus. Someone will invite you to tailgate. Maybe bring some cash so you can "donate" to tailgates and feel more welcomed. I think 2.5 hours before kickoff you can see the band come down the hill by the PMAC. Then watch the players come down the hill after the band. Maybe go in the stadium a hour early and hangout and enjoy watching the team and the stadium fill up.
Also for lunch you could hit Chimes at north gate and go into the Varsity for a couple drinks and watch some games if you're in need of bathrooms and don't wanna walk so much with the wife. If there ends up not being a tailgate for you then go buy a cheap backpack or rolling cooler for some drinks. Brings some cups and plan to throw it away before you go in the game so you don't have to mooch
