CNN and the damn polls. Are they THIS ignorant?

They are completely thrown off by what has happened so far after looking at the polls from the last ~7 days.
Did they not even consider those polls being false?
If Trump pulls this off, CNN is going to lose their collective minds.

They considered it but when the polls have been pretty accurate over the years for the most part and Trump underperformed his polls in the primaries it wasnt crazy to think that what the polls said was what would most likely happen.

I hear you.
It just seemed impossible to ignore how off the things were. The lead Hillary had. How much they'd change in the blink of an eye. Plus how long people have been talking about a quiet Trump vote.
I have no idea if he'll win, but them being THIS confused is coming off all amateur hour.

I honestly think many Trump voters kept it close to the vest. Particularly Dems and independents.

Well I think the fact that his campaign didnt seem to be be managed well and he made a lot of what would have been considered rookie mistakes (going after a gold star family and things like that) that seemed like a counter weight to the change momentum you're talking about. Turns out that stuff didn't matter all that much. I don't think it was a conspiracy in the media, i think people would rather be right than anything else, but just the conventional wisdom being applied. What they didn't realize is the rules had changed.

Even if he loses, the polls were way off.

They're so out of touch with regular folks.

A few, but Trump supporters might be the most vocal of any group ever. I think the biggest deal is that Trump is just dominating undecided voters. They've shown up in the polls, but the split has been even traditionally. Combine Trump getting those votes plus lower Dem turnout and you get tonight.
