Aranda head coach in waiting

Is LSU foreshadowing by making him the highest paid assistant in college football and by also giving him the title associate head coach? Dont get me wrong I think hes worth every penny but they really want him here it seems for long term. Im a supporter of Coach O but if it doesnt work out I think we already have our next HC on campus.

No, he wants to coach in the NFL

It's an interesting thought.
If Aranda *Wants* to be a HC one day and not just an NFL DC, setting him up as the associate head coach does sound a lot like "Head Coach in waiting".
It would be a good move by the Tigers. LSU, all other things aside, is a factory for NFL talent. If we can get a guy who is considered one of the great "teachers" in college football long-term, it should bode well for LSU Football.
Or he leaves to replace Nick Saban at Alabama after they offer him 10M per year over 10 years.

How do you know that? You don't. He's never side that on record. Quit spouting off stuff you've read online.

exactly what i said yesterday. Even if he does go pro you keep that door open for him to come back

I love Dave Aranda, but don't think he'd be a great HC. He doesn't talk, like ever! He walks around with ear buds in all day long, pretty to avoid talking to people. Genius DC, talented enough to be a HC, no doubt. But there has to be a social element to you to an effective HC. Saban hates doing it, but he does it. Aranda does not, at least not yet.

Or came from a reliable source. Dont get butt hurt your statement is false

Right, well enjoy your purple and gold dreams of Aranda being the next head guy

Has he signed yet?

Aranda does seem to be a quiet guy (maybe bc assistant coaches don't do press conferences), but I've seen nothing but assumptions and unsubstantiated rumors about his future plans on here. Recently, someone started with the "he wants to be an NFL DC one day" and "he wants to be a HC in a couple of years". Maybe he does, maybe he doesn't. Enjoy the time he has here, watch him play championship caliber defense and don't get all bent out of shape when he inevitably leaves for another, hopefully better job. It should be our wish that he is the most desired assistant in the country--it means he's doing something right.

Did I ever say it was a cold hard fact? Did I even say I had evidence supporting it? NO! It was just a thought, and like most people on here when theres a thought it translates in to a post. Dont get mad because what you posted backfired on you
Btw, enjoy your dreams of him saying he wants to coach in the NFL

You're still making an assumption. Unless you know him personally this is an assumption.

Do y'all have any reason whatsoever to think Aranda wants to be a college head coach. Or is this the purple and gold glasses kicking in?

Like I said previously it was just a thought. Dont get salty because yall arent getting him over there in steers and queers country.

I just became a Texas fan Saturday.

Is that supposed to make me upset that they got Herman? Have fun cheering for the burnt orange for many more mediocre seasons to come. I remember my first bandwagon experience.

What's your next off the wall idea you pull out of your arse?
Posted on 11/30/16 at 11:43 am to Jack Daniel
Texas making the playoff in the next decade.
Tom Herman stays at UT for over five seasons.
You realize that your opinions/ideas are yours and my thoughts are mine and not bashing someone because they believe differently than you... but thats stretching it.
