This is simple. If you like him more than you dislike him upvote, if you dislike him, downvote.
McEwan is an old British guy who writes like one, which isn't necessarily bad.
I've read just two of his books, but it's evident that he loves the cold war 50s and 60s.
His descriptions are beautiful, but concise, and his stories do not drag on.
Read:
The Innocent
On Chesil Beach
And of course, he wrote, but I have not read Atonement, the film featuring Kierra Knightley. This film is indicative of his writing.
