Ever been in this spot before (playoff related)?

So my league is a bit odd, at least in terms of leagues I've played in before. We only have 4 playoff spots, so we have 14 regular season games. I started out the season 0-4, and tied for last in the league (I was 11th by virtue of scoring).
Since then, I have gone 8-1, currently sit 2nd in the league with 1 to go, and lead the league in scoring by 92 points (1665 scored).
My last game is against the current #1 team, who is 1 game ahead at 9-4. If I win, I'm the #1 Seed in the playoffs, after starting 0-4.
Here's the funny part, and a spot where I've never been. There are 6 teams (including me), at 8-5. If I lose, I need 3 others to lose as well, or I'm out of the playoffs entirely.
Anyone else ever been in a spot where if you win, you're the 1 seed, but if you lose, you're out?

Not exactly but something similar. In a 12 team league, 4 teams make the playoffs and this was the last week of the regular season. Heading into the week there was a 10-2 team secured in first, then me and 4 other teams tied at 7-5. I won and due to points ended up with the 2 seed. If I would've lost, I would've missed the playoffs.

In our office league 8/12 teams were fighting for a playoff spot this week. We have two horrible 1 and 2 win teams and everyone else finished 6-7,7-6, and 8-5 and one 9-4 team.

I was in this position as well. Sitting in 4th place, win and I’m in the playoffs, lose and I’m out.
Not only did I win, but the 3 teams in front of me all lost, so I’m now going into this weekend win a Bye in 1st place.

Damn! That's crazy. Hopefully I have the same kind of luck, although I just need to win to be the 1 seed.
Best part is Yahoo projected me to finish 11th in the league, and a few guys flat out said my team was not good on here. Hell, I was told Wentz wasn't going to be worth having, and that I needed help at RB. Just gotta have some faith.
So any finish will be "better than the experts thought".

No, because we always played with 6 teams making the playoffs. With just 4 teams, it's more likely.

Yeah, I suppose you are right. This is my first 4 team playoff, so it's different.
Still don't think it's very likely. Hell, the guy in first could be out depending on how things happen this week.
