Best seats for a match

Taking a trip to Europe next spring. Looking to go see a match in Italy or Germany. I have never been to a professional match before.
Might be a silly question. Where in the stadium do you prefer to sit?
Is it like football where center is better, or is it better towards one end of the pitch near the goal?

I prefer to be seated (not standing) either high up directly behind a goal or at midfield. I try to avoid sitting near a corner.

real talk in those two countries
the blocks that you can stand in are for the ultras
chances of getting tickets in a standing block or slim to none, unless you are seeing smaller clubs.

Give me some good clubs to look into. Northern half of Italy or very south of Germany. Like to go somewhere where the fans are passionate about their clubs.

Bundesliga teams in very southern Germany: Stuttgart, Augsburg, Bayern Munich, Freiburg.
2.Bund teams in very southern Germany: Heidenheim, Ingolstadt, Regensburg.
Northern half of Italy: Everyone. All but 5 teams in this year's Serie A are in the northern half of Italy.

Same - our season passes for Portland FC are in the corner. Not bad and it's far enough away from all the weirdos who wave gay flags nonstop for some reason
