Breath of The Wild will support Labo VR

quote:

Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will support the Labo VR Kit shortly after it launches this month, Nintendo said today. The games will get free updates on April 25 that add virtual reality support, using Nintendo’s $40 Labo VR goggles, which launch April 20.

quote:

Breath of the Wild is getting full-on VR support in the main game. You’ll simply be able to turn on the VR Goggles in the options menu and explore all of Hyrule in VR. (Pre-rendered cut scenes won’t work in VR, it said.)

$40 cardboard it is then, I guess

That's either going to be amazing for BotW or the worst thing for it. No in-between.

Odyssey is only to be 3 minigames.

I'm intrigued at the BoTW support.

Weird thing is that it's a full game and Labo VR doesn't have a head strap

Man that won't look good up close in your face.

Can't imagine playing in the Kokoto Vlliage and Lost Woods. It feels like the game drops to 5-10fps in some parts of those areas.

I'm betting it will not be difficult to add a strap.

You can disconnect the joy-cons from the console.

By the way, you can get the first Labo variety set ($80 value) for $40 on BestBuy online.

You're right. So why the shite doesn't Nintendo just do it?

You do know that the headset doesn't come fully assembled, right? You're making the whole thing anyway. We're simply talking about adding another step.

My kids got this one and the Vehicle Kit for Christmas. They haven't even started on the Vehicle Kit yet because they've enjoyed the Variety Kit so much.

So I guess Nintendo will be selling a separate strap for $60 at some point down the road.

You say that, but check out the actual Labo gameplay video. Looks legit. And you can make your own games and probably download others' creations?

Dreams for PSVR is is going to be ultimate user created VR games.

Someone already recreated the PT Teaser demo in it, thats going to be nuts in VR.

Zelda is going to be cool, but it's a fixed third person camera and you can't move it it ruins the tracking.

I'm just glad to see Nintendo dipping into VR.

This and the news of PS5 supporting current PSVR has me excited to be an early adopter of VR, it's not a fad. RE7 VR is still to this day my time favorite gaming experience.

Xbox is strangely silent about VR, despite it's success and Microsoft's original plan to put a VR set on the Xbox One.

But you have to continuously hold it up with both hands and it’s made out of cardboard

It looks half assed
