My wife uses an old iPad 2 with keyboard case for her Home Health business and an old iPhone 6. Looking to upgrade, and would like to consider going the Samsung route (I have an S10 and love it). I know much about the S10, but nothing regarding the Samsung tablets. Do the tablets offered have decent keyboard cases (she types medical notes)? Another hangup is she likes using iMessage with other iPhone users so she can type her messages on a keyboard. Does Samsung have a SMS synchronization service that would allow SMS to be sent from the tablet?

Need to make sure she isn't using apps that aren't available for both or functionally the same. I know a few medical people that want to go Android, but they like certain apps on iOS a lot better.

All of her medical notes are handled on websites and not separate apps.

I will say that this has a lot of potential to blow up in your face based on the minimal facts you've laid out.

1) She's your wife
2) This affects her work so even minor problems will seem like a big deal
3) There's going to be a learning curve going from iOS to Android, so she will experience problems at first

You need to soft sell this and let switching platforms be her idea and decision, not something you pushed her into.

I think you guys may have the wrong idea. I'm not "pushing" or trying to "sell" anything here. Staying with iOS is definitely an option. Since we are upgrading now (and we obviously don't do that very often...LOL), now is a good time to evaluate our options. We do not have any other devices in the Apple ecosystem, so making a switch now may work. The main hangup I see here is keyboard/case options & typing messages on the tablet (vs iMessage). We currently use FB Messenger between the two of us since it's cross-platform, doesn't compress video, and allows us to communicate from different devices.

I have an iPad 11 Pro with the Apple keyboard cover and it provides 90% what I need for everyday use. Keyboard is a nice bump from my pro 10.5.
