Kind of a random post, but ETA Prime makes good content for Beginner Users in RasPi Emulation. Check out his channel and this Top 5 RasPi Accessories rundown. Thought it would be helpful for some looking to get into SBCs.

I was at one of the Amazon Returns bin places and found a Raspberry Pi box and was elated... until I found out it was empty. So disappointed. I thought I was going to land one for $5.

i've been all over the place lately on making an emulation machine. even got a 360 until i realized that's the worst option possible
the issues i seem to find with raspi4 are heating/cooling issues
i have an entire list called "gaming" on my amazon account for various parts/options. i think now i may do an optiplex build with used parts off Facebook Marketplace. or a GPD XD Plus if their prices ever fall

It can't be passively cooled, yes, only had fans but it is almost required to be actively cooled.
