My Proposal for the FedEx Cup "Playoffs"

A lot of complaining on social media/podcasts about how the FedEx Cup Playoffs aren't actual playoffs. In a playoff, if you play bad, you're out. For instance, if this was a true playoff, Leishman would be out for playing terribly for the last two weeks. Instead, he is going to East Lake and could conceivably win. Webb sat out an entire event.
Here is my proposal to fix the playoff system and make it an actual playoff:
You keep the same breakdown of the shot advantage that you do for the TOUR championship, except you give it to them at the start of the playoffs. Then you play three stylistically different events. You have a birdie fest in Boston, followed by a US Openesque setup in Chicago, then Atlanta for a firm but fair test. Aggregate the scores from all three weeks.
I tried to do a shadow leaderboard, but it didn't work out because some of the guys who would have been in the top 10 missed the cut at one of the first two tournaments. Therefore, their scores aren't realistic. If you aggregated, you'd have to shrink the field to inside of 100 to start and do three, no cut events. This year, DJ would have a huge advantage going into this week, but he should. He blew away the field in Boston and then almost won last week.
I'd love to spend the time going back years and figuring out what the playoff would have looked like if there was an aggregate, but I think some of the players missing the cut would impact the standings.
For the record, I don't really have a ton of issues with the playoff as it stands, but I thought about this and thought it would make it more playoff like and could be interesting to watch play out some years. Others, like this year, would all but guarantee who would win before the third week.

Fed ex points get you in. Once it’s starts, you have to make the cut to get to next week.
Winning the playoff tournaments count as wins and prize money. The next week is a new week. You miss the cut, you’re out. That’s a true playoff.
