Anybody else like this movie? I think just one more solid battle scene could have really put it over the top. It really only had two. Here's one:

Those T-34's look pretty legit too. Unlike in some other movies where they just use 60's era armor and paint WWII markings on it.

Anyways, one of my faves, I have it on DVD

I thought the movie was excellent! I teach European History, and it was great to see a depiction of battle from the German soldier's perspective. Obviously it was very different than the typical Hollywood portrayal of German soldiers in WWII. All in all a very good movie.

It is more drama than battle scenes, although that tank scene is an excellent one. It really depicts the misery of the German soldier in Stalingrad than anything else.

I bought it online, Amazon or something like that. Just google it if they don't have it, but I imagine they do. Make sure you get one that has English subtitles though, I think they probably all have that option anyway.

The theme song for this movie is f'ing intense too. The scene after the fight with the T-34's of them dragging what looks like a PaK 40 through a snow storm is cinema gold IMO.

Pretty impressive. Those are T34/85's which took the outstanding T-34 and up gunned it to a 85 mm gun. Altho it didnt go into service till 1944, and therefore wouldnt have been at Stalingrad, only WWII geeks like me know the difference.
