All signs point to him being a QB. That is one of the things that helped LSU win him over. Had Texas immediatly offered him a spot at QB, he probaly would have gone to Texas (although there are some more minor reasons why Shep chose LSU).

I think he might start out at qb but be moved to wide receiver return man, or db. Not because he isn't a good qb but because he is such a good athelete that he will be utilized in other ways and most coaches are going with bigger qbs. I think (could be wrong) he is only listed at 6'1".

No. Hes still growing and his mechanics/arm strength will only get better. His athleticism at QB will create absolute nightmares for opposing defenses, especially with the talent surrounding him. Choking LBs to spy on him, allowing receivers to go over the top more because of frozen LBs, I can see it now. The option is just going to give defenses a huge headache.

I can't imagine using him at any position other than QB.

Our off. is geared for a QB like him. He doesnt have to be the best passer... just dont lose it for us.

LSU has not really prospered (JM excepted) under a drop back QB. I think this kid can bring something to the table we haven't seen before. I could be wrong, but his passing ability is better than advertised.

I think he will add a dimension to our team in which we havent seen in an LSU team since H. Tyler...... actually a lot better IMHO. I dont claim to be an expert though...just a fan

You are dead on, buddy. Now, Shep has said, in the past, he would accept a move if it meant playing time. Still, this kid is Herb Tyler as a better athlete, with better talent around him. I would be absolutely disappointed if LSU moved him to another position.

Uh, no. If we used speedy QBs elsewhere, we would've had Perrilloux doing more then being a QB and being on the kick coverage team.

Sheppard will sit his first year unless he picks up the offense quickly, then he can be used in running situations like Perrilloux was.

Perrilloux isnt nearly as fast/agile/athletic as Sheppard.

he is not a very good passer retard. anybody that has watched him play knows that. he can get the ball to the reciever but he does not throw a pretty ball.

I honestly thought that RP wasnt a good runner at all. His vision sucked. I thought he was more of a threat as a passer. Or maybe everyone always knew when RP was in he was running? His arm was extremely good though IMO
