I picked him up as my backup to Deshaun Watson in the 11th round.

I started him over Deshaun this past week because of an easier matchup with the Dolphins. Picked up 43.4 points.

This week:

Allen @ Rams (7th defense)
Watson @ Steelers (9th defense)

Should I consider starting Allen over Watson on a regular basis or should I only start him when he has a favorable matchup?

I'm riding with Watson unless the matchup is insanely difficult. Bills have been really hot. Not sure if they can keep it up when the weather gets bad but I don't watch them much.

Allen was very solid last year. He was underrated going into this season and Diggs in the field with Brown is a big upgrade.

I started him every week last year after WK3 or so.

Yes but not by some outstanding margin. Depends on league.. The difference between Josh Allen (6 in points for qb) and QB 11 was like 20 points or right over 1 ppg. If you had to draft Allen multiple rounds in front of QB 11 I'd say that's a reach. Compare this to say the difference between Allen and the QB in front of him which is 30 points behind Watson

Wasn't he rated a QB1 coming into the season?

He's certainly outperforming his ADP right now and I think that he'll come back down to Earth, but I see no reason to believe he won't continue to be a QB1 moving forward.

Yes I’m pretty sure most experts had him as a QB1 for 12 team leagues

Okay, I should clarify. Assuming he has equal matchups with Watson is he QB1 over him?

Russ is the hottest QB going into week 3. Unless his team cools down or someone gets hurt I'm riding with russ

My QBs are Deshaun Watson and Josh Allen.

Are you saying I should pick him up off waivers or something?

Ooops. Brain fart. Josh Allen has had arguable the easiest schedule through week 2 and he plays in an area with bad weather. I expect him to be stronger through the first half of the season compared to Watson. Think Watson will come around as the season goes on and he gets used to no Hopkins. I think weather needs to be a factor and not just the opposition. Either way I can't imagine either player surpassing each other by more then 25 points on the season.

As a Josh Allen owner, I'd still be starting Watson over him.

I might end up regretting this but I'm looking to sell high on my Allen/Diggs combo in an attempt to buy low on Michael Thomas. Cam is my other QB.

IMO that's the play that will make you stronger come playoff time. I'd take MT healthy and Cam late season over diggs and allen in the cold cold weather

I would try trading Watson to upgrade another position. There is the top 3 QBs and then the next tier is very close to each other. I believe Allen will finish top 5 QB

I have Kyler and Allen. Trying to sell high on Allen this week for the best RB I can find (had Saquon). Is someone like Melvin Gordon the best I can hope for?

That's a pretty optimistic outlook from my perspective. Gordon is looking to get more touches due to injuries
