If so how long do you think this will last?

It's not "prohibited" for many places, just a PITA.

Some places are wide open (Tanzania) while others you'd need an act of God to get in (Japan).

You can travel to Mexico by air with no problems whatsoever.

Friends of ours just left for Amsterdam. Though I'm not sure what the quarantine requirements are for internation arrivals on the netherlands. But they are ballers who have a house on a canal so I guess they will just hole up there for 2 weeks if they have to

No.

Read this to see what is currently open to us.

I am strongly leaning toward Ecuador and Brazil this year.

Any advice on the BS covid test 72 hours before arrival?

I went to CVS 3 days before I left and got results in 2 days - no problem. However my fiancé got tested with me and didn’t get her results until we were here.

They make you upload travel documents prior to embarking. They email you an “approval to board document” once you submit paperwork but before they actually check it. I simply uploaded a picture of paperwork for the scheduled test for her. By the time the actually checked it, we were at hotel and she had negative test back...so, it’s not that strict. There is a screening at the airport and they let her through for some reason. They aren’t very sophisticated people checking these things.

Assuming you are negative, worst case scenario is you have to take a test at the airport and quarantine in your hotel room for 6-8 hours while you wait for results. Met two people around the resort had to do that.

However, some states are different. I live in Texas so it was less restrictions. Not sure where you live.

All that being said, once you get here, it’s fantastic. It’s empty. Palapas that needed to be reserved a day before and hours in line or wide open anytime of day. Any excursions or massages are walk up booking. No issues with reservations or space at the pool.

I see. I wasn’t looking at Aruba, but I know a lot of countries we can enter that have that requirement.

We cancelled our trip in October due to all the restrictions there. How is it?

Worst part was the flights. Our nonstop United flights cancelled and we were forced to go with American Airlines and a lay-over. I hate AA
