How long of a stay?

SI was my family's vacation spot for almost twenty years. Golf is fantastic, great tennis facilities and the Beach Club is nice. We rented a "cottage" for two weeks, sometimes a month. St Simon's Island has some really good restaurants. The beach is kinda meh. I haven't been since The Cloister renovation, but I hear it is very nice.

Southern Soul BBQ is good Texas style Q. Palmer's Village Cafe is good place for breakfast. But there are quite a few restaurants on St. Simon.

Fort Frederica National Monument is worth a visit; not much to see there but it is on the river and a nice place to walk around if the weather is good.

Depending on how long you stay; Jekyll Island is only a 30-40 minute drive if you are looking for some other place to visit. We had a good seafood dinner at Zachary's Riverhouse there.
