Watching the replay, the new turf looks like shite. I wasn't impressed with it when I saw it in real time at the game either. What is the deal?

You can see spots along the LSU sideline where it's real thin and the grass hasn't caught fully yet. The sun really exposes that.

There shouldn't be ANY thin spots with a sodded field. It's all thick squares and/or rolls of turf that covers every square inch of sub-surface. If there are thin spots already, then that's the fault of the grouds crew and the head turf manager. Knowing the recent track record of the groundskeepers at LSU, it wouldn't surprize to hear of a problem. Didn't we just hire a guy from Mississippi State to take care of the field. Why not shoot an e-mail to Ronnie Halliburton and find out what's going on if you have a concern with the field. Tell us all what he said. Since I was not there in person to see for myself, I can't comment. Will have to take your word on it.....

I commented on the shittyness of the grass at the game as well. It had brown/bare spots between the hashes on the northern part of the field that were very visible.

I was under the impression that they didn't use sod this time around. They actually seeded and grew the grass in place.

It's true they did hire someone from Miss. St. but someone posted on here awhile back that he is no longer with LSU.

I made a comment about it yesterday during the game too. Between the hashes was very noticeable. Looked like quite a few games had been played on it already. I wasn't impressed

All in all its sad that we have one of the top programs in the country and we cant get a decent grounds keeper.
