Apparently, they clear the lobby of all non-hotel guests prior to the March in and out of the ducks. My wife and I had planned to have drinks at the lobby bar with my son at about 4pm (ducks march at 5pm). I called and asked.. they said they clear the lobby of all non guests, then I would be welcome to re-enter to finish drinks at my table at 510pm.

Has anyone been? Is this really the case?

We went with no problem. Anyone and everyone could view the ducks again. Drinks were pretty good, and my kid was extremely happy.

I have not been there during Covid but I have been there, including at the bar, when the ducks parade. It is an attraction, but it does not attract huge crowds. It is not like Phil Mickelson on the 18th green at the PGA. I don't see why they would have to send people away, unless the announcement gives them publicity. I bet that if you are at the bar paying for drinks you will be fine.

We went back in April...called the front desk and they told us only folks staying at the hotel can see the ducks.

Didn't bother going downtown to test it out though.

Are they going to make you show a room key to stay or how will they verify everyone is a guest? Anyways, you can always go to the rooftop during the day and see the ducks in their "Palace". From my experience, and I stay at the Peabody 15-20 nights a year, all the duck march turns out to be is a bunch of moms pushing and shoving so their kid can get to the front. Pretty ridiculous. You'd prolly have a more enjoyable time taking your kid to the Bass Pro rooftop. You can still have drinks and kid can see the lookout.
