CRT isn’t new and has been taught for years in higher education courses. Who’s kid is being taught this?

I’m good with keeping it out of middle schools and high schools.

It can be discussed in college.

It’s the mark of an educated mind to entertain a thought without accepting it as true. College is where it belongs. Teach the basics to high school kids.

I agree with Tim Pool.. it's not technically being taught. It's effectively being applied to everything.

I agree with this is how it should be, but unfortunately in college the convo doesn't go both ways...so no "discussion.'. Conservative kids are getting railroaded by professors and other triggered students.

I got out of college in 2009 and we could still disagree and have an open discussion. I guess I heard the horror stories lately but didn’t know it was that ubiquitous.

Ohhhhh take pics and report back on the garbage that is said. Especially if anyone questions anything.

Innocently ask if they replaced "white" with "black" if they would be teaching it. It's a fun group exercise.

I've noticed that the NPCs are all responding that CRT isn't a thing in our schools since ACTUALLY CRT is only taught in college! Of course this doesn't pass the sniff test.

Here is an explanation about a platform funded by major foundations such as Bloomberg, Zuckerberg, Gates, Walton, etc. -- about how K-12 education policy is incorporating CRT.

Middle school and high school kids are not sophisticated enough to criticize and analyze it.

But I’ll revise my earlier statement that it should only be taught in college-level courses if it is allowed to be criticized and rejected in discussion.

It’s a garbage and way oversimplified theory, but I’m not really for censoring any viewpoint out of a college curriculum.

I may do this.

I've heard of others who made waves by refusing to admit to being racist.

But there's also the sheep who go along with the garbage.

The state will be implementing changes to social studies for all grades in Louisiana.

From the Louisiana Dept. of Ed
- Louisiana Believes...2021 Summit

From page 13:

quote:

Revision Goals
1. Shift to an inquiry-based approach with a balanced focus between acquisition of knowledge and disciplinary skills.
2. Create a more coherent sequence of content, so students are better able to build and retain knowledge over time.
3. Strengthen instruction at the elementary level to ensure students are prepared for secondary and post-secondary coursework.
4. Better integrate the historical perspectives of people from all different backgrounds.
5. Provide students with opportunities to utilize strong critical thinking skills to evaluate and synthesize information.

CRT time?

49 pages of material for you to peruse. Embedded are little nuggets like #4 listed above.

So I guess physiognomy, race and IQ, and balancing the humors should all be taught as very serious theories in college-level courses, too.

I’d let the free marketplace of ideas within academia dictate that.

I certainly wouldn’t be for an outright banishment or censorship of any of those theories.

free marketplace

*groans*

The main downfall of conservatives re: institutional presence has been that conservatives never had any interest in running government or institutions. They bought fully into the post-Reagan idea that the best government was small or no government, that entrepreneurialism and corporate striving were valorous in themselves, and that "the free market" probably had all the answers. The end result is that they lost control of government, and the business culture they championed has decided conservatives are the problem and should be extinguished. This is, no matter how you look at it, a record of abject failure, and you can't blame it all on devious libs.
