I just don't see how people think these schools of thought are sustainable and good for society and the economy.

I personally don't identify with either party
Socially I'm pretty democratic I.e. Gay marriage
Fiscally very conservative
BUT I do feel healthcare should be affordable to all but I do not think the Aca was the way to do it I hate to say this but govt should rather have done something about the seemingly insurmountable cost of medical bills if someone was uninsured for whatever reason be it lay offs from work and they couldn't afford to keep carrying g health care and they had a baby they would be strapped with essentially a college education in costs just to bring their baby into this great country and that just doesn't seem right given the southern family values I was brought up on

there are a ton of them out there
like if you live in an urban area, it's a big status symbol to NOT be a Rep
the whole marginalized group identification with the DEMs as a default
lots of social pressures to be DEM. being a Rep in many circles will get you labeled an ignorant, racist, idiot

if you can't see why a person who is in a marginalized group OR one who is socially liberal fears the GOP then i don't know what to tell you

Flow pro that's a big issue with politics now though they're so polarizing and both parties work so hard to be us vs them rather than the people of America vs major problems that people cannot play devils advocate to themselves or their personal beliefs to understand legitimately how the other side sees things and see where they're coming from to at a minimum empathize even if they still disagree
