Pence is from Bartholomew County which is only 75 miles away from Boone County.

I used to live in Hamilton County which is very similar to Boone. There is a definite shift left and I’m glad I moved out. There are numerous transplants moving in from liberal states. Factor in the white suburban soccer moms, push to put in apartments, low income housing and just the apathy of the Republicans there and you will see the reason for the shift.
When I first moved to Hamilton County 30 years ago it was the reddest of reds. Not so much now.
