Sources: The plan is for #Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa to return to practice this upcoming week and a determination will then be made if he can play in Week 8 vs the Cardinals. Things have trended positively for Tagovailoa and he has been in “incredible spirits.”

Patriots are expecting RB Rhamondre Stevenson to play Sunday in London vs. Jaguars. Patriots also didn’t promote a RB from the practice squad, which would have been necessary if they weren’t planning to have Stevenson.

Source tells me no long-term injury for Commanders QB Jayden Daniels. With Commanders up 37-0, no need for him to return today. Team reevaluates Monday.

Mike Macdonald said the early word is that Metcalf might have escaped anything serious. Metcalf was injured when he landed hard while trying to make a catch on the sideline late in the third quarter and got tangled up with Atlanta safety Justin Simmons. "On that sideline catch, he banged up his knee a little bit," Macdonald said of the pass that was ruled incomplete because he was out of bounds. "Not sure the severity. We're optimistic at this point, so it doesn't look too bad."

Commanders rookie QB sensation Jayden Daniels is undergoing tests today to determine the severity of his rib injury, per sources. Initial tests on Sunday showed no fractures, but further tests today and possibly in the coming days will provide more clarity.

I can’t remember a worse year for injuries and I’ve been playing since 1998.

This season is a drag.

I agree. Asked the guy that runs a league I've been in for 15 years and he says it doesn't seem to be more. But, seems overly excessive to me. I can't finish a week in either league without someone going out. The replacements I'm picking up are getting hurt. It's ridiculous.

Patrick Mahomes is Droppable

The expectations for Patrick Mahomes were sky-high in the preseason. The Chiefs traded up in the NFL Draft to select Xavier Worthy, signed Marquise Brown in free agency and Rashee Rice avoided a suspension. Worthy is the only one of the three still standing, and he hasn’t made a seamless transition to the NFL.

JuJu Smith-Schuster had a resurgent performance for the Chiefs in Week 5. Sadly, he re-aggravated a hamstring injury he picked up during practice leading up to Week 7, and Smith-Schuster will likely miss time.

It's really come to this.

His subpar numbers are even more eye-popping if you extend to last season. He's only gone over 20 points something like 2 or 3 times in his last 20 games. Don't remember the exact numbers, but it is more than enough data to draw the conclusion that he's only rostered on name value. If his name was Derek Carr he would be on waivers. Chiefs just have a different winning formula the last two years - play great defense and ball control on offense. He's elite at winning in real life, but they aren't in shootouts, so it's useless for fantasy.

ETA: And to add to the fact he has no WRs, Kelce is obviously aging out. I think his leading receiver this week was Noah Gray. Don't care if you're peak Tom Brady, you just aren't going to throw for 300+ yards with that cast.

Big news here ...

Dan Campbell said no issues with David Montgomery's knee after playing through that injury yesterday. Said Montgomery had a contusion after being kneed in the back of the knee.
