Fantasy owners do some dumb stuff

A guy in my biggest $ league just dropped Dameon Pierce to pick up Marvin Jones because he needed a WR to fill in due to bye weeks.
Here's his roster before the drop/add:
Team QB
Raiders QB (bye)
Seahawks QB
RB
N. Chubb
D. Montgomery
C. Patterson
K. Walker
D. Pierce
WR
D. Adams (bye)
D. Hopkins (suspended)
G. Pickens
A. St. Brown (bye)
TE
Z. Ertz
G. Kittle
Lineups are 1 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 2 Flex so he did need another WR to start, but there were so many things he could have done before dropping a guy that's performing as a top 5 RB over the last 3 weeks. Hell, trade Pierce for a good WR.
I'm mainly just mad because players automatically become free agents and someone else grabbed Pierce before I could.
ETA: It's a 40 team league, so we're bound to have some boneheads.

Each player can be owned multiple times. I’ve done fantasy football since 1988 and this is probably the best league I’ve ever been in. Y’all need to be more imaginative.
League started in the 90s and we just kept adding people.

Not sure why y'all are so upset over my league. It's actually pretty awesome.
40 person league (actually we have 2 different 40 person leagues).
The original league started at 10 and grew over the years. At 40, we have 4 divisions with 4 different drafts. When interconference games occur, you may be playing against someone with a common player or 2. Each division has it's own playoffs, then the 4 division winners play in the finals and finish 1st-4th based on score. That one is very simple.
Then a bunch of us decided we wanted one big draft. That one eventually grew to 40 also. Each player can be drafted 3 times (a player cannot be drafted back to back and no player can be owned more than once by the same owner). This league doesn't have divisions, but is a top 20 bottom 20 each week. 16 teams make the playoffs and half are eliminated each week. This league is awesome, and we should try it on TD.

Then again, I've won the league twice and been in the finals several other times. Pretty nice paychecks.

Most of the dumb stuff I see is self inflicted.. like last week:
Had to choose between Lazard and Hines and chose Hines mostly because he played on Thursday and I was bored.. so I started him and he gets hurt first possession.
On Lazard’s first possession 3 days later he catches a TD pass
