Warriors coach Steve Kerr indicated that DeMarcus Cousins (Achilles) is farther along than he expected.
quote:
"We're just taking it slowly, but I don't think it'll be too long before he's taking part in practice," Kerr said. This comes on the heels of GM Bob Meyers saying that the Warriors aren't going to hold him back when he's ready, but that's still several weeks away. He's scheduled to be re-evaluated in four weeks, but Cousins' fantasy appeal is growing by the day with all the positive reports out there.
Danilo Gallinari could close some games as the starting five.
Coach Doc Rivers hinted last week that his closing lineup will often be Patrick Beverley, Lou Williams, Avery Bradley, Tobias Harris and Gallinari, and they showcased that exact lineup on the first day of camp. The Clippers are loaded at guard, so small lineups are going to be a major theme for them this season. This is good news for Gallinari because he could play 30+ minutes even with Harris breaking out last season.
Maybe I dont need a center.....

Markelle Fultz put on a show in Friday's preseason opener with 14 points (6-of-11 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), four assists, one rebound, two steals, one block and three turnovers in 23 minutes.
Coach Brett Brown sounded like he was going to give Fultz every opportunity to hold onto the starting job and the guard made a strong case tonight. He had several highlight plays including a chase-down block, some fancy dimes and some nice cuts off the ball, but he also hit both of his free throws and drained a pull-up jumper from the elbow in the third quarter — he looked hesitant to shoot in the first half, so it was good to see him come out more aggressive in the second. We will try not to overreact to one preseason game vs. Melbourne United, but if you’re planning to take a flier on Fultz then this game was really encouraging to see.
Just pass me the trophy now!!!
