Ok so the FA bidding system is live and the first waiver run is today at 10.
Sorry Papz, nobody really 2nd'd your position on opening up FAs after the waiver run, so they will remain locked and the only way to add will be thru a bid

That sucks. Keeping it open a few hours after FAAB allows active players to be active. I thought it would be a good balance for active/inactive.
Really disappointed and it changes the whole dynamic of the league. Aren’t rule changes typically enforced the year after anyways?

if you're an active player, why not just put a bid in for them? you have from 11am to 10:59 AM the next day to put in a claim.
keeping them locked otherwise simply gets us away from the "race to the wire free-for-all" after breaking news at 1PM that so-and-so prospect has been called up. i like it bc it increase competitiveness having to bid for someone as opposed to just being lucky. and i'm one of those who would probably benefit from a free-for-all system as i'm a "desk jockey"

i think the general protocol around here is 75% vote is required for in-season rule changes. 9/12 who voted, voted for the change to FAAB.
i guess we can put it to a vote if you really feel this strongly about it. since nobody really 2nd'd your position i figured it wasn't worth our time... but i guess we can throw parliamentary procedure our the window for this one

We are voting on that now. Its currently 3-2 in favor of opening it up post-waivers. Will let the vote run for a week. A simple .majority either way to decide.
If it passes, i think during the preseason we should still keep players locked after the waiver run. With split squad games in spring training it would be tough to discern when that player should lock.
Once the season starts that player will lock when their game starts that day.
