Waivers during playoffs

Is it an unwritten rule in your league that those not in playoffs shouldn't claim waivers? How do yalls leagues feel about this?
I can understand if there is a last place punishment and wanting to avoid that.

In my league there is a playoff bracket that awards 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place and a consolation bracket with the consolation prize being half the league entry. Everyone is free to make moves this week. Once teams are eliminated from either bracket I lock their teams from being able to make moves in the future.

Shouldn’t make move unless there is something to play for.
