It's a smaller operation, but it's incredible, and when anywhere near Reserve, I stock up on it. They have a smoke house on the side/back of the store where it all goes on, and it's never changed. It makes a gumbo. No kidding.

Where abouts is this place? We have a plant down there behind Marathon Refinery I go to a few times a month. I want to try some of that stuff.

I think they refer to it as the new road versus the old road, although both are old. :lol;
There's a gas station and a light there. I believe it's right across the street from the private school there... Riverside Academy. Take that road, and cross the RR tracks, and as soon as you do that, look to your left and you will see a sign on top saying Country Store, or Don's Country Store. They keep it in the back cooler with other stuff they make like fresh country sausage and hogs head cheese. The sausage is great, and the cheese is meh, but the andouille is other worldly IMO. Never had better, and I've tried them.

Tell him to get you some Don's seasoned ground meat. Incredible. Very low fat, and makes a great hamburger.

What about in Baton Rouge? Don't have time to go to LaPlace and I need some for Besh's crawfish cornbread dressing I got from NOLA.com.
I've tried the normal store bought brands and they are all similar IMO.

Bailey's recipe comes from Jacob's, right? I thought Bailey worked with Jacob's for years.

Try Ronnie's on Florida or Jerry Lee's might have some. Chris's Specialty Meats may have some too.

Wait a minute:
Are they both in Laplace?
Which Jacobs is everyone referring to?

They are both in laplace. Most people refer to the Jacob's on airline, as people are more familiar with it. For me, WJ on West 5th is the best andouille in Laplace, great smoked sausage too. The 2 jacobs are owned by different people and are not related at all.
